Unmounted bearings have a cylindrical typically pressed on to a shaft or tapered bore to mount to a drive shaft with adapter sleeve or onto a tapered shaft. and are offered in a variety of types and styles. These include ball bearings, cylindrical radial roller bearings, needle roller bearings, spherical roller bearings, and tapered roller bearings. They are all available with a variety of options and clearances to suit your application needs.

Ball Bearings
Radial ball bearings consist of an inner and outer ring with a retainer that contains a number of precision balls. The double row ball radial ball bearing - containing two rows of ball-type rolling elements - takes up less space than two single row ball bearings in tandem. This allows it to handle greater radial loads in a more confined space. The double row is available with a variety of seal, shield and retaining ring styles.
Cylindrical Roller Bearings
Cylindrical radial roller bearings facilitate ease of mounting and dismounting, particularly where both races are an interference fit on their seating. The rolling elements create a line contact with the raceways and can handle relatively high radial loads. These bearings typically use cage separated rollers which allows for higher operating speeds. Cylindrical roller bearings can also accept incidental to light thrust loads.
Needle Roller Bearings
Unmounted bearing assembly consisting of through hardened precision machined inner and outer raceways. They contain either full complement or separated needle rolling elements. Depending on the bearing configuration the retainer can be land or roller riding and available with several sealing option. Machined race needle bearings provide an antifriction solution when supporting rotating shafts with radial loads. Needle roller bearings also do not have a contact angle and are not recommended in applications where thrust loading is present. If high thrust loads are present, provisions should be put in place to allow bearings better suited to handle the thrust loads. The needle cage is sometimes omitted and a full complement of rollers is used instead for oscillatory and high load applications.
Spherical Roller Bearings
Spherical radial roller bearings have a barrel shaped profile. This combined with a curved raceway allows relative motion between the rolling elements and raceways (internally self-aligning). Spherical roller bearings create an elliptical shaped contact area that is larger than a ball bearing making them ideal where static and dynamic misalignment is present.
Tapered Roller Bearings
Tapered radial roller bearings create a line of contact between the raceway and rolling element distributing loads across a larger area. A double row provides twice as many rolling elements available to carry bearing load which increases bearing load capacity. Because tapered roller bearings are set at an angle, they can accept heavy loads from both the radial (Y) and thrust (X) directions. This makes them ideal for tough applications such as mining, bulk material handling, and off-highway applications.
